Feather Phobia
EVERYWHERE.
Immediately I felt shivers going up and down my spine, I could actually feel beads of sweat forming on my forehead. Basically it was the beginnings of a panic attack.
Here’s a little factoid. I have a severe phobia when it comes to bird feathers. Yes, I said it. Bird. Feathers. I’ve been this way since I was a kid. I remember my sister chasing after me with dirty pigeon feathers and so began my issue.
I didn’t even realize my son had feather pillows in his bedroom. I know I wasn’t the one to purchase them, so I’m assuming my sister did. In any event, I had to back out of the room immediately this morning. I yelled at the top of my lungs at about 7am, for my son to come upstairs to explain the mess.
“Mommy, we were having a pillow fight”, he says.
Great, a pillow fight, with pillows that happen to have REAL feathers. I always thought pillows only broke on television, I guess I’ve been proved wrong. So currently, my son and his cousin will spend most of the morning I’m sure picking feathers of the floor and bed. I don’t want to see one loose feather floating around my house.
Disgusting.
Maybe one day I’ll discuss my fear of cottonballs.
