Saturday Morning Videos: The Roots

One of my favorite hip-hop groups/bands and personally, I put them as one of the best ever are The Roots. They never swayed from their formula of making what they felt was true hip-hop. They practically put Philly on the map when it came to hip-hop music. But as with everything, good things do come to an end eventually. Last night at the Chicago concert, ?uest announced their (temporary) retirement with a projected date of March 2009. Take a look at the You Tube below.

Whether you were a fan or not, for the past 18 years, The Roots were and will always be a hip-hop staple and innovators. In the present day of the “Bust It Baby”, “Super-Man Dat Ho” hip-hop rejects, it was always good to know that there were artists out there who didn’t feel the need to fill the airwaves with misogyny, negativity and the like.
