A Holiday Fit For A King

“…what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation..” ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I also think yesterdays concert at the Lincoln Memorial, is definitely a demonstration that will be forever embedded in our memories. The sea of people at both of these events were astronomical and historical. A sea of black, white, yellow and brown faces from every socio-economic status and walk of life were able to experience both of these events live and in person.

As I sat watching the concert yesterday, I also wondered how many of those people were at the Lincoln Memorial when Dr. King gave his infamous speech and are now seeing his “dream” being fulfilled in such a historical way. As millions of people converge upon Washington, DC over these next few days, I hope they realize the impact of one man’s dream and another man’s destiny being fulfilled.
