R.I.P Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson will always be the King of Pop. When a man who had such an impact on music dies, all you can think of is, who will be able to top him? His legacy will be felt upon the world forever. Whether you were a fan or not, no one can ever say they’ve never at least sung a MJ song, or moon walked. When I was a kid, I wanted a red leather jacket. I had a Michael Jackson doll and black penny loafers.

My son, who’s 10 years old, has been a fan of MJ since he was about 4. When I showed him videos of  The Jackson 5, he couldn’t believe that a kid that young was so talented. When I told him that kid, was now an adult and showed him videos of Michael Jackson as an adult, he was still amazed that he was still performing and was the person people referred to as “The King of Pop”.

About 10 minutes ago, my son walked into the house from the pool. He saw the tears in my eyes and asked me what was wrong and I had to explain to him that Michael Jackson died. I could see the tears welling up in my son’s eyes. He didn’t want to believe it, but I had to tell him it was true. As he’s sitting in the living room watching youtube videos of Michael Jackson, he has his bass guitar out and is trying to play is favorite Michael Jackson song, “Ben”.

Michael Jackson, you will be missed & will never be forgotten!
