Mac did in fact say to someone “See this racket (or ball, I can't remember)…. down your throat!” I saw it on YouTube the other day. It doesn't make Serena right for what she did, far from it, but nobody resorted to racial slurs when Mac did it, that's the point.

When I first heard about this, I was irritated because of all of the coverage it was getting. Refs and line judges have been getting cussed out and called out since forever. My first thought went to McEnroe. But then I saw the video, LOL.

As much as I want to defend Serena for merely being a professional athlete, who showed some raw emotion, its tough. Because her outburst was way too close to being a threat. That really is the big difference between her and other occurrences with other players. Most would say… “you're an idiot for making that call, you blind bastard.” Serena said (lol)… “I wish/want to take this effin' ball and shove it down your effin' throat.” Damn Serena, how do you really feel, lol? But even with that said, the fact that her and her sister are the dominant forces in women's tennis… and arguably the biggest stars in tennis today after only Federer and Nadal (and that's not a definite), is an issue. Serena just unintentionally gave the close-minded a chink in the Williams Armor of which to try to move them out of some of their appeal to the masses.

Don't think it will happen though.

The drama continues. Well, it wasn't drama because it happened in the mens final. Oh, and the offender didn't curse directly at the line judge. Yeah, riiiiiight, it was a white guy getting upset at a call, just like Serena did. F**k is f**k and I don't care which way your head is turned. Who honestly thought Serena would stick a racket down that woman throat. For one thang, her ying yang mouth is too small and her brown nose ass is to tight – she couldn't have shit out the racket.

She got upset and it happens. I don't think they should throw the book at her or make an example out of her even though they will probably try. She is passionate about tennis which is part of the reason she is so driven and competitive. Other people have made worse offenses in and out of the sports domain with little if any consequences……she wasn't really gonna hurt the line official even though I'm sure they were scared….LOL She paid her fines and apologized..time for ppl to let it go and move on……..

Yeah she reminded me of McEnroe too; and I remember thinking that he was a silly mean spirited little man when I was a kid and used to watch him play the likes of Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors back in the day.

She looked and sounded like yet another spoiled athlete who has lost touch with reality. They ought to suspend her ass for a year and let her cool her heels. By the way…..they should have suspended McEnroe too.

There are white people who have been for one of the William sisters “step out of line” because they resent two black females beating white girls even from the Soviet Union. They finally got their wish. Let them go ahead. But, personally, I was glad to see a little Compton come out of Serena.

Serena was better composed that me. I would have hit the lineswoman with the racket for that bullshyt call. Even the commentators (which included McEnroe said the call shouldn't have been made). John and Jimmy Connors gave the umpires and linespeople hell back in the day but for the three reasons you have stated, Serena is the one most harshly criticized for her words.
