Procrastination Is The Lazy Man’s Excuse
In college, I was told by my Nigerian boyfriend that, “procrastination is the lazy man’s excuse” is a Nigerian proverb his father would tell him as a child. Considering I’m not Nigerian, I can neither confirm or deny this, but I always thought it made sense. So in honor of my ex from college & his father, I’m officially crowning myself the “Queen of Procrastination”.
As of today, I’ve gotten absolutely NOTHING accomplished for my business trip to Phoenix, Arizona. I have laundry I still need to complete, I have to also pack the kid’s things, so he can head over to his aunt’s house for the rest of the week and I need to clean my house, so it won’t look like the disaster area it is currently, when I return. On top of that, I have about 100+ new faculty positions I need to fill by the start of the new semester at my job.
Right now, the only thing I’m looking forward to is the plane taking off and sitting back in the seat and breathing a sigh of relief, because although it is a business trip, the time alone will do me good! So as I sit here at work, procrastinating and writing this post, when I should be actually working, I am fulfilling my duties as the “Queen of Procrastination”. Apparently, I’m not trying to change any time soon!
