I’m Sorry Your Father Is A Serial Killer
Growing up, I used to have somewhat a weird fascination with serial killers. I would read books on top of books on psychological profiles on them, their biographies, and anything else I could get my hands on. I don’t know why I was drawn to them, but I think it was my fascination with anything to do with horror, gore and the like. I’m sure I was the only 11 year old, who was interested in learning about Charles Manson, and others like him. When I watched “Silence of the Lambs” for the first time, I knew thought I wanted to be just like Clarice Starling, profiling the crazies.
Well fast forward several years, the only crazies I can bare to be involved with are my coworkers and the ones who like to sue people, that’s more than enough for me.
Imagine growing up as an adopted child, and years after tracking down your biological mother she decides to tell you that you’re a product of rape and your father is Charles Manson. Talk about a downer. I don’t even think Maury Povich could handle such a disastrous outcome.
Welcome to the life of Matthew Roberts. I came across his story on The Sun’s website earlier today and sat here with my mouth wide open as I read it. Apparently his mother was a Manson groupie, who was raped by Manson and gave the baby up for adoption. Could you blame her? Roberts, who’s a DJ in California, is now making his rounds and telling his story about his infamous and psychotic father, who’s still rotting behind bars (funny, he’s been on death row for how many years..?).
I’m not sure if I’d be able to live with the burden of having a serial killer as a father, let alone, the possibility of having schizophrenic mental issues like Manson. I don’t know what’s worse, finding out your father is a serial killer, or being one of Dr. Conrad Murray’s children, and learning your father was responsible for killing the greatest entertainer of all time?
