About Me

Born and raised in the NJ/NYC metro area, [fung’ke][blak][chik], has had a penchant for writing and voicing her opinion since she was a child. Although the voicing her opinion part at such a young age, usually ended up with her on punishment or getting smacked, her mother always encouraged her to pick up a pen and paper and write. Labeled the ‘weird child’ by her siblings for spending countless hours in her room reading and writing, she always had an audience for her material.

After graduating college, she took her writing skills and put them to use in the academic and business setting. With professional careers ranging from HR Consulting for various federal government and state agencies, to working with one of the top universities in the country, she not only honed her writing skills, but also used her life experiences as a point of reference for her snark laced sense of humor. Her vulgar and straight with no-chaser personality has proven to be her biggest asset in making people laugh but also keeping them informed.

Definitions:

[fung'ke]: Outlandishly vulgar or eccentric in a humorous or tongue-in-cheek manner; campy; Characterized by originality and modishness; unconventional

[blak]: I’m black, plain and simple. Being a black woman has drastically shaped my opinions and perspective.

[chik]: Slang: A girl or young woman, but I’m not sure how long I can hold on to the ‘young’ part, since I’m in my early 30’s, but constantly mistaken for someone a lot younger, good genes I guess! But some of these younger women I see, suffer from a bad case of Benjamin Button disease in the face…hard knock life much?
